Progress Report October 2022

We had quite a few throwbacks in September with annoying certification issues and the Stadia shutdown, but we also have some good news to share.

This report covers Elemental War, Elemental War 2, Spine, Tri6: Infinite and Tri6: Arena.

What a month. It started with the release of Tri6: Infinite on Stadia and ended with the shutdown of Stadia. We still don’t have any informations about our revenue for September and the next months as well if there will be some recoup of the porting costs for Elemental War which wasn’t even released yet. At the moment it looks not that great and could make our next year harder than planned.

But just two days before the shutdown, I was a nice talk show about cloud gaming at the German channel Cloudplay. You can check it out here:

Also keep an eye on our news this evening 😉

Elemental War

Well, actually the plan was to launch the port of Elemental War on Stadia in November. We just entered final certification last week. Now that obviously won’t happen anymore, so all the time was wasted as it looks at the moment. The update for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S as well as the general update will still be launched, but probably later than November due to certification slot issues on PlayStation (have to book them almost 2 months in advance now). Keep an eye on our news and social media to stay informed.

We also started a new “series” called Map Check where will play newly submitted maps. There is just one episode so far, but the second one is already recorded.

Elemental War 2

The new game mode update actually was planned to be released already in September, but due to a little bug in the PS4 version and just getting new cert slots for this week it’s still delayed. But if there is no issue this time (and there shouldn’t) we will release the update as soon as possible.

After that update there will be another small update to add functionality to unlock new maps also via coop mode (except we fail cert again and anyway have to prepare a new version, then it will directly be part of that one). And then we’ll have to see what the future will bring for Elemental War 2.

Spine

In September we finally release a new update for Spine again.

For October we want to release another one update fixing a few more issues and preparing the beta mode to start working on the UI overhaul (finally).

Tri6: Arena

The concept is submitted and we’re preparing to start work on the prototype soon. The goal is to have a rough version until the end of the year and polish that one over Q1 next year. This prototype will basically be a vertical slice. That means all functionality will be included and polished and once it runs fine we just need to add graphics and more content. We will also do some playtest events next year, both for general feedback as well as multiplayer stress tests. Tri6: Infinite

Tri6: Infinite was a wild ride in September. The Stadia launch was pretty good for the player counts (almost 5x to what it was before Stadia launch) and we’ll hopefully get at least some money out of it (no idea yet).

Somewhen in the next weeks the Asian PS4 versions should enter cert and when they pass finally all versions are released. We’re currently considering another small patch as there is one UI glitch on SteamDeck and we thought about making unlocking new things a little easier.

In general we got plenty of feedback and almost all of it was positive which is awesome. And a lot of good ideas will become part of Tri6: Arena. Thank you everybody for trying out the game and providing your feedback and I hope you’ll join us on another platform with the shutdown of Stadia.
