Happy new year everybody! We hope you had a good start into 2021. Here is our monthly look into the last and the current month.

This report covers Elemental War, Spine, TakeControl and Tri6: Infinite.

December was a pretty good end of the year for us and we hope to be able to continue with a successful start into the new year. Here’s what we did and what we planned for January.

Elemental War

Elemental War finally got released on Xbox in December. It took a lot of time to get it running there, but the time spent was worth it. We got a lot of new players and also some good feedback again that will make it into the next small update 1.8.1 we’re going to release in January. This will also contain a fix for a quest that’s not working properly using a controller.

Besides the Xbox release we also released Elemental War 1.8.0 on PC so all platforms are on the same version again. The update fixed quite a few bugs again.

We now hope to be able to release the PlayStation version of Elemental War soon as well, latest in March. But as usual it’s not in our hands.

Spine

The December update to Spine 1.26.0 added bugfixes for some problems including the translator not working and also added user reviews.

The next update is also close to being finished and will be released on January 15th. The new features there mostly target developers as we got some feedback there, but there will also be some fixes for players. We got some bug reports recently we try to cover, but as some of them happen only to one or two people and we can’t reproduce them it’s not an easy task. So if you have any bugs, please report them to us with as much detail as possible.

Additionally to the Spine update, we also released a new patch for Xeres’ Return with some bugfixes and Carsten’s christmas modification. There were also plenty new releases and patches in December and even in January we had to update some mods again.

If you still miss mods or have problems, feel free to leave a comment or join our Discord.

TakeControl

TakeControl is the content tool that was started in preparation for Red Skies: Ascension. While it still misses a lot of features to be of use, we made very good progress so far and are able to do the basic stuff with it. TakeControl is meant to manage all game content such as characters, items and especially dialogs in an easy way. For compatibility with as many projects as possible it uses a plugin architecture to easily support games.

As a first test environment we decided to write a plugin for Gothic 2. It doesn’t support all features TakeControl supports yet, but a simple dialog can be exported already in the compliant format, so you can use it ingame right away. We will add more features there in the upcoming weeks and maintain the plugin as well. Then we will write a bigger announcement for TakeControl.

Tri6: Infinite

As Tri6: Infinite is a finished project, no real work was done in December for it besides a small feature for PlayStation only. But we passed the store page submissions for Nintendo Switch now and can announce that Tri6: Infinite will be available for pre-order in the Nintendo eShop starting January 7th with the release being on February 11th! So Switch players, get ready to join our community!

For PlayStation we are again waiting, but hope to be able to release soon this year, either in February or March. But as already mentioned in the Elemental War section, it’s not in our hands.
